Kale is a Super Vegetable! Kale is one of the very healthiest vegetables you can eat! But kale for breakfast? Some people fear kale is too bitter for breakfast.
Not when it's cooked this way... Here's a fast and easy recipe that will make you feel healthy and energetic all day.
Simply slice a few carrots, put them in a steamer and cook them for a few minutes.
While the carrots are cooking, break the kale up into bite sized pieces and slice up a quarter of a medium sized onion.
When the carrots are soft to a fork poke, fill the steamer up with kale leaves and sprinkle the sliced onions on top.
Steam the kale, carrots and onions until the kale is limp. Serve it on a platter with a generous amount of olive oil, garlic salt, oregano or the spices of your choice.
There's something about the kale, carrot, onion and garlic salt combination that takes any bitterness taste away.
It's fast, easy, tastes delicious and is VERY HEALTHY. I like it better than broccoli.
I use precut, washed kale that is sold in plastic bags but this also works well with kale fresh from the garden.
